About weather and photo matching
- Matching weather forecasts with photographs is conducted based on the following.
- Place on the weather page and place where the photo was taken
- Day of the weather forecast and a photo taken on another day within roughly one month of the day in question
- Weather from the weather forecast and the weather at the time the photo was posted
- Long-sized photos with 1,600px or more
- In the event of multiple applicable photographs, the photograph with the most ratings from users is displayed
- If there are no applicable photographs in weawow, a 500px image is displayed taking into consideration the place and the weather.
- If there are no applicable 500px images available, a general image is selected from those posted to weawow by an operator with no association to the place and is displayed matched with the weather.
- The image displayed for a year's weather at a given place is displayed based on having the most user ratings.
- The image displayed for a month's weather at a given place and a given time period is displayed based on having the most user ratings.
- The method used to match weather and photographs is subject to change without notice.
